Senior Construction Project Manager Position
Our client, a professional services company, seeks a seasoned senior construction project manager to join their office team in Cork. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Irish contract law and strong commercial acumen, with a proven track record of delivering projects successfully on time and budget within a consultancy setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their objectives, expectations, and governance requirements are meticulously managed and met throughout the project lifecycle.
* Establish and implement robust project governance frameworks, including change control, risk registers, financial reporting, and detailed program management.
* Expertly administer various forms of construction contracts, including GCCC (Government Contracts Committee for Construction), RIAI, handling certification, claims management, and dispute resolution.
* Lead the procurement process for both design teams and main contractors, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks and best value for the client.
* Manage and monitor project budgets, conducting value engineering, processing interim payments, and managing project close-out accounts.
* Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams (Architects, Engineers, QS, etc.) and contractors, driving effective communication and decision-making.
* Oversee the design process, ensuring constructability, quality compliance, and adherence to all Irish Building Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in the Irish market operating as a Senior or Lead PM level, preferably within a professional consultancy or client-side environment, degree qualification in Project Management / Construction / Engineering / Quantity Surveying, professional status, highly analytical skills, detail-oriented, exceptional organizational and communication skills, proactive in identifying and mitigating project risks, comfortable presenting complex data and strategic recommendations to executive-level clients, demonstrable proficiency and experience administering standard Irish construction contracts (GCCC/RIAI), strong understanding of the construction market, regulatory environment, and planning processes, and advanced skills in project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project) and project management platforms.
