Role: Principal Engineer – Plant Network
The Plant Network team plays a critical role in shaping the company’s manufacturing footprint by providing the financial insight and analysis needed to guide strategic network decisions. This role focuses on evaluating the cost, capacity, and efficiency impacts of network changes, ensuring that decisions align with both operational excellence and long-term business strategy.
Location: Cork, Ireland (Stryker Anngrove); Hybrid role with flexibility.

What you will do
* Key member of Plant Network team.
* Formulate and implement strategic plans to drive the overarching strategic plan and future direction of the Plant Network organization.
* Partner across all functions within divisional and GQO organizations to deliver margin expansion in line with divisional pipelines; participate in and lead cross-functional/divisional business forums and process improvement initiatives.
* Direct teams to collaborate with Manufacturing and Operations to improve COGS and supply chain agility using relevant tools.
* Evaluate and develop detailed financial models to compare and assess network scenarios (e.g., plant expansions, consolidations, transfers, or closures).
* Translate complex financial and operational data into clear insights and recommendations for leadership decision‑making.
* Partner with Product Transfer, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, HR, and Strategy to capture costs, capacity, risk, people and sustainability in evaluations.
* Support NPI business cases to align with network strategy.
* Provide analytical and financial input during M&A due diligence.
* Evaluate manufacturing synergies, capacity overlaps and network optimization opportunities from acquisitions or divestitures.
* Support “what-if” analyses to evaluate trade-offs across network design options and regional cost structures.
* Maintain up-to-date databases and dashboards reflecting key network cost drivers and performance metrics.
* Identify opportunities to streamline financial evaluation processes and improve accuracy, transparency, and decision speed.
* Provide direction to the team in complex situations, remove obstacles, allocate resources, and interface with other functions for issue resolution.
* Oversee Plant Network Governance, maintain risk logs, and ensure program activities stay on track.
* Facilitate Plant Network meetings, reviews, actions and escalations with timely tracking of actions.
What you will need
* B.S. in Engineering, Science or Business; related Master’s degree preferred. 5–8 years of leadership experience or substantial operations, supply planning or engineering support required.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing and presentation skills.
* Proven leadership with coaching and mentoring abilities; ability to thrive in a dynamic, results-driven team environment; flexibility is essential.
* Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong analytical skills with problem solving and process improvement orientation.
* Analytical, logical and strategic thought process; innovative thinker who envisions better ways of doing things.
* Experience in Medical Device or FDA-regulated environment is beneficial.
