Location: Dun LaoghaireReporting to: Manager/Supervisor as SpecifiedContract: PermanentHours per week: 37 hours based on the approved monthly shift pattern between 33 hrs and 44 hrs per weekShift Pattern: 3 -4 days, Monday - Friday, Day/night 12 hours shift 7.00am-19.00 or Summary:As a Waste Management Operative, you will be responsible for the effective handling and disposal of waste materials in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. You will play a vital role in promoting environmental sustainability and maintaining cleanliness within our organization.Key Responsibilities:Collect, segregate, and process waste materials in accordance with recycling and disposal requirements.Operate waste management equipment such as compactors, pallet trucks, and trolleys safely and efficiently.Transport and dispose of waste materials following site and environmental protocols.Maintain cleanliness and organization in waste storage areas and external collection points.Assist in the implementation of waste reduction, reuse, and recycling initiatives to support site sustainability goals.Conduct regular checks on waste areas and report any non-compliance or safety concerns immediately.Work collaboratively with site/project teams to promote a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible workplace.Report any hazardous materials, spills, or incidents to the appropriate personnel promptly.Adhere strictly to company and client HSEQ policies and safe work procedures.Wear appropriate personal protective clothing and equipment at all times.Participate in site inductions, toolbox talks, and relevant waste management or safety training sessions.Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with ISO, health, and safety standards.Qualifications and Skills:Previous experience in waste management or a related field is preferred but not required.Knowledge of waste segregation practices and recycling procedures.Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Certification in waste management or related training programs is a plus.If you are passionate about environmental conservation and are dedicated to maintaining a clean and sustainable work environment, we encourage you to apply for the Waste Management Operative position.
