Job Title: Clinical Nurse Manager II Day Ward
Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager II to lead our Day Ward team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area.
Key Responsibilities:
* To manage patient care to ensure the highest professional standards using an evidence-based approach.
* To provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership to the team.
* To co-ordinate, assess, plan, deliver, and review service user care by all staff in designated area.
* To provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to service users within guidelines laid out by NMBI.
* To participate in teams / meetings / committees as appropriate, communicating and working in co-operation with other team members.
* To facilitate co-ordination, co-operation, and liaison across healthcare teams.
* To collaborate with service users, family, carers, and other staff in treatment / care.
* To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care by personal involvement and supervising activities of other qualified nurses.
* To regularly evaluate and monitor patient care by using hospital quality systems to ensure care is delivered.
* To develop and promote good relationships with patients, families, and carers and make ward environmentally welcoming and homely.
* To work as an effective member of multidisciplinary team promoting good teamwork and excellent patient care.
* To evaluate and further develop philosophy, objectives, and goals of department.
* To ensure that all staff are familiar with use and care of all equipment, and that such equipment is maintained in good working condition.
* To ensure strict confidentiality of information regarding patients/residents is adhered to.
Managerial Responsibilities:
* To provide necessary supervision, coordination, and deployment of nursing and support staff to ensure optimum delivery of care in designated area through allocating work fairly and competently.
* To manage communication at ward and departmental level and facilitate team building.
* To provide staff leadership and motivation which is conducive to good working relations and work performance.
* To manage all resources efficiently and effectively.
* To lead on practice development within clinical area.
* To lead and implement change.
* To promote, facilitate, and participate in development of nursing policies and procedures.
* To monitor as appropriate and lead on proactive improvement.
* To contribute to formulation, development, and implementation of policies and procedures at area and hospital level.
* To actively participate in Nursing Management structure by supporting Assistant Director of Nursing, Clinical Nurse Manager III, and deputising in his/her absence when required to do so.
* To maintain all necessary clinical and administrative records and reporting arrangements.

Qualifications & Experience:
* To be registered in General Division of live Register of Nurses kept by NMBI.
* To have completed Management Course or commit to undertake same.
* To have minimum 5 years qualification experience and have previous experience within acute Surgical/Medical environment.
* To have previous management experience essential.
* To have experience in change management.
* To display evidence of continuing professional development.
* To demonstrate awareness of HR policies and procedures.
* To possess working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
