Plumbing & Heating Trade Counter Salesperson
My client is a well-known supplier of plumbing and heating products with over 40 branches nationwide.
They are looking for a Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join their team in their Mullingar branch – mainly Monday to Friday with 3 hours on a Saturday in rotation with other staff.
You will handle sales enquiries both over the phone and in person, providing professional advice, information, and quotations.
Although a background in selling plumbing and heating products is advantageous, it is not essential. I welcome candidates from all customer-facing roles, including Grocery, Interiors, Fashion, Flooring, Homewares, and more
I would also be interested in hearing from a plumber or tradesperson who is ready to down tools and transition into a showroom environment.
What I do need, however, is someone with a bubbly and enthusiastic personality who enjoys consultative selling-taking the time to assess customer requirements and offer expert product knowledge (which can be learned).

Responsibilities for the job of Plumbing & Heating Trade Counter Salesperson
1. Welcome and assist customers at the trade counter, providing knowledgeable advice on heating and plumbing products
2. Process customer orders accurately in-store, by phone, and via email.
3. Upsell and cross-sell products to maximise sales opportunities.
4. Prepare quotes and follow up with customers to convert enquiries into sales.
5. Liaise with suppliers to check stock availability and lead times.
6. Maintain stock levels, carry out stock checks, and assist with stock replenishment.
7. Ensure the trade counter area is clean, well-presented, and fully stocked at all times.
8. Resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
