My client, a leading multinational group, is currently on the lookout for a hands-on IT Manager to manage and support the IT environment across several locations in Ireland. The role will involve regular travel between locations in Leinster and close involvement in day-to-day IT operations.
The Job:
* Lead and manage a team of 3-4 Systems Administrators, providing hands-on technical support and escalation
* Take ownership of day-to-day IT operations across a multi-site group
* Travel regularly between locations to support and oversee IT systems
* Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all IT infrastructure
* Manage and support Windows Server environments (latest versions)
* Administer and maintain Microsoft Active Directory / Entra ID (Azure AD)
* Manage Microsoft Office 365, including email protection and security
* Oversee networking infrastructure including HP and Cisco hardware
* Hands-on management of networking, firewalls, TCP/IP, routing, and switching
* Lead installation, configuration, and support for desktop and end-user environments
* Act as senior escalation point during outages or critical incidents
* Participate in a rotational shift pattern and provide on-call support for downtime incidents
* Manage third-party vendors, service providers, and SLAs
* Oversee hardware and software procurement
* Implement IT operations best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
Have You:
* 7+ years' experience in IT operations or infrastructure roles
* At least 2 years' experience in a leadership or team management role
* Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server (latest versions)
* Extensive knowledge of HP and Cisco infrastructure
* Strong networking expertise including TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, and switching
* Experience administering Microsoft Active Directory / Entra ID
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and email security solutions
* Exposure to IAM concepts and access management
* Experience managing IT vendors and third-party service providers
* Background in desktop support installation and IT operations management
* Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including shifts and on-call
* Willingness and flexibility to travel between multiple sites
Certifications (Preferred):
* Microsoft certifications (e.g. Systems Administrator, Azure, or related)
* ITIL certification
* Additional infrastructure, networking, or security certifications are an advantage
