Maintenance Control & Instrumentation Electrician
The Maintenance Control & Instrumentation Electrician will be an integral part of the maintenance team with responsibility for the safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance and troubleshooting of the plant and equipment to help ensure that the plant operates to strict efficiency, availability, environmental, and commercial standards. The successful candidate will work with a wide variety of electrical equipment and control and instrumentation equipment.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Perform hands-on planned and reactive electrical and C&I maintenance activities in accordance with site policies and procedures.
2. All aspects of hands-on electrical fault finding, testing, and repairs in a power generation environment.
3. Installation, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of plant equipment.
4. Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the CMMS.
5. Preparation and review of task-specific Method statements and Risk Assessments.
6. Carry out authorized roles under the safety rules as required (Safe Systems of Work).
7. Any other duties as required, which may be assigned by your line manager.
8. The successful candidate will be required, on occasions, to have flexible working hours and be available for callouts.
The successful candidate will have:
* Recent 2-5 years of experience in Thermal, Hydro, renewable generation plant, or equivalent industrial hands-on Electrical/Control & Instrumentation systems maintenance.
* Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of HV/MV/LV electrical systems and/or C&I systems.
* An understanding of heavy electrical components such as transformers, generators, switchgears, motorized valves, motors.
* Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and P&IDs.
* Ability to organize and prioritize work.
* Experience and technical knowledge of power station electrical maintenance procedures or electrical maintenance practices in similar heavy process industries.
* Experience with instrumentation calibration and electrical test equipment.
* Ability to follow maintenance procedures.
* Strong safety culture and ability to work in a team environment.
* Full B driving license.
* Good IT skills, with some knowledge in the use of computer systems.
* MUST have FAS / SOLAS / Senior Trade electrical craft qualification or equivalent.
