Role Overview: Irish Government Regulatory authority based in South Co. Kildare needs an Enterprise Architect to join their team on a contract basis and assist in the delivery of an organisational development plan that will cover their architectural needs for the next few years.
We are looking for a seasoned Enterprise Architect with experience of the full Microsoft 'Suite' including bizapps, PowerApps, Dynamics and some data work, who can come in and help to improve existing infrastructural efficiency while helping to develop a roadmap for the organisations future IT Architecture.
The role is offered on a Hybrid basis, with the Enterprise Architect expected on site approximately 3 days per week.
(Full remote working option unavailable.
As this may occasionally increase at key project Junctures, the ideal candidate will have independent transport options, such as their own car.
While the role is initially offered on a 6-month contract basis, the scale and scope of this project is such that there is a strong probability of it being extended well beyond this time.

Responsibilities of Role: * Create technology and architectural strategies across multiple domains * Support the preparation and delivery of business and IT projects with strong architectural and technical guidance * Undertake requirements analysis, architecture development, product evaluation, design, integration, implementation and planning of future business function and corporate solutions as required across the enterprise, e.g.
financial, Asset Management, HR and Actuarial.
* Ability to act as the prime technical contact on programs while working closely with IT and business colleagues as a key contributor in a complex and critical environment and effectively manage stakeholder expectations and requirements.
* Assist in development of longer term Architectural; development anticipates future business needs and maximizes technology investments * Evaluation of vendor offerings against business requirements, constraints and priorities.
* Lead creation of all required architecture documentation including creation of architecture artefacts * Act as a coach to advise and assist IT colleagues in any architecture disciplines.
* Help to demonstrate the business value of EA as an enabler of strategy formulation, and as support for technology innovation.
* Undertake analysis of business and operating models, market trends and the technology industry to determine their potential impact on the enterprise's business strategy, direction and architecture.
* Determine the relationship between people, processes, information, technology and things of the enterprise, and their relationships to one another and to the external environment.
* Work with business reps in specific departments to develop and present business capability models and roadmaps to facilitate discussion and decision making with stakeholders across the enterprise.
* Undertake analysis of the business' future-state capabilities and future (and current) IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
* Assist/Undertake organisation maturity assessments on the readiness of the organization to change and innovate.
* Present a gap analysis and/or IT investment roadmap that reflects the status of the existing IT estate, namely, its ability to contribute to future-state business capabilities around ecosystems and digital platforms.
* Undertake activities in support of ongoing architecture governance, assurance and standards setting to guide EA decision making including preparation of proposals for, participation within, support operation and help achieve successful outcomes within the Architecture Council.
* Ensure that the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work are properly prepared and stored within the Architecture Repository.
* Consult with infrastructure, project and product teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture.
* Participate in development and execution of a communication/education on the organisation's enterprise architecture.
Essential Candidate Requirements: * Minimum of bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline * 7+ Years's experience as a solutions architect that must include experience on projects that involved technical solution architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management, operations or security - Such experience should ideally have ben gained in a medium to large size medium to large size enterprise * Certification, in Cobit, Zachman, TOGAF, DoDAF, MODAF, FEAF and/or have a previously developed a complete set of architectural views using these methodologies * Will need to have covered the full Microsoft 'Suite' on previous projects including bizapps, powerapps, dynamics and some data stuff, * Experience and past success in developing and deploying solutions using Agile, DevOps and Cloud based methodologies * Strong business analysis skills and experience, including development of business vision and strategies, functional decomposition, requirements capture,and process modelling.
* Knowledge of and experience with software development methodologies and structured approaches to system development.
* Awareness of systems management and operational support tools - Security and/or infrastructure experience would also be a significant benefit * Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks * Strong knowledge of Software as a Service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics * Good understanding of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management * Familiarity with basic graphical modelling approaches, tools and model repositories * Experience in financial or insurance organisation * Executive presence, strong influencing skills and the highest level of professionalism and discretion.
* Strong leadership and people management skills in including dealing with through adversity and managing ambiguity.
* Flexibility and a positive attitude toward change.
