Job Title: Senior Health & Safety Advisor

Role Overview
The Senior Health & Safety Advisor will support the delivery of best-in-class health and safety performance across all projects. The role involves advising/assisting project teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organisation and with external clients.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a Health & Safety advisor across all project stages and activities.
Attend and contribute to key project meetings in collaboration with Project Managers and Construction Managers.
Liaise with client H&S representatives to ensure compliance with regulatory and client-specific requirements.
Support and lead incident and accident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis is completed and lessons learned are communicated.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, audits, and inspections, and produce monthly H&S performance reports.
Identify non-conformances and compliance gaps, and drive corrective and preventative actions to effective close-out.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits, providing clear feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Promote a proactive safety culture and drive continuous improvement in H&S performance across all activities.
Deliver H&S training to internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g. clients, contractors, schools, and organisations).
Support Project Managers and Supervisors in the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Develop and review key safety documentation including Safety Statements, Construction Stage Plans, Traffic Management Plans, and Safe Work Procedures.
Ensure all work activities are adequately risk assessed and controlled.
Support the ongoing development, implementation, and improvement of the company’s Health & Safety Management System.
Act as PSCS representative on behalf of the company and external clients where required.
Assist in establishing and maintaining company H&S standards, procedures, and best practices.
Monitor H&S systems throughout the project lifecycle, from site setup to completion, including audits, inspections, and reporting.
Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all personnel and visitors, including safe use of plant, equipment, and systems of work.
Qualifications
Qualification / Diploma / Higher Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NFQ/NVQ Level 6 or higher)
Preferred Requirements
Nebosh IGC / International Diploma
Train-The-Trainer
Fire Safety Instructor
Key Attributes
Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and construction sector requirements
Strong skills in the provision of H&S training
Proven experience in incident investigation and audit processes
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture
Highly organised with strong reporting and documentation skills
