role offers the opportunity to work on complex database environments, including modernising and re-architecting legacy systems while contributing to cloud migration initiatives.
Responsibilities:
* Design, maintain, and optimise stable, secure, and high-performing database systems.
* Support the full development lifecycle, from concept and design through testing and delivery.
* Develop and enhance database-centric functionality using Access, SQL Server, and SSRS.
* Ensure data integrity, security, backup, and recovery across key database platforms.
* Produce technical and architectural documentation and troubleshoot system changes.
About You:
* 7+ years' experience in database systems administration across multiple platforms.
* Professional certification in SQL Server (or equivalent).
* Strong experience re-engineering and migrating legacy on-premise systems to cloud platforms (Azure SQL, Dataverse, AWS).
* Proven ability to reverse engineer and document complex legacy database systems.
* Experience working with public sector bodies or central government departments.
