Theatre Manager - A Leadership Role in Patient Care.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our healthcare team as a Theatre Manager, where you will play a key role in leading and managing a team of nursing and support colleagues. As a Theatre Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of safe, quality-assured, efficient services for patients and colleagues.
About the Role
* You will lead and manage a team of nursing and support colleagues in the provision of patient-centered, evidence-based, quality patient care.
* Co-ordinate and manage activity and resources within the theatre, endoscopy, and CSSD department to ensure safe, quality-assured, efficient service delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. In consultation with CNMs, consultants, and other disciplines, implement and assess quality management programmes.
2. Develop services within the theatre and endoscopy department.
3. Foster good working relationships between colleagues and other staff by maintaining high professional standards.
4. Work within allocated resources through rigorous planning, monitoring, and evaluation of all available resources.
5. Contribute to effective teamwork and excellent patient care as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
6. Manage communication at departmental level and facilitate team building.
7. Provide leadership and motivation that fosters good working relations and work performance.
8. Manage all resources efficiently and effectively.
9. Lead and implement change as required.
10. Develop evidence-based policies and procedures to support best practice, monitor, and lead proactive improvement.
11. Evaluate staff development and induction programme for trained and untrained staff, including students, in the clinical area.
12. Identify opportunities for staff professional development in line with service requirements.
13. Ensure compliance with relevant accreditation standards and identify opportunities for quality improvement.
Requirements
* A registered general nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* At least 3 to 5 years' experience in a leadership role within a theatre environment, with previous experience in a private healthcare setting being advantageous.
* Hold a qualification in Peri-operative Nursing.
* Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to influence others.
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience of quality audit/assurance systems.
* Experience with clinical and professional practice development.
* Have experience in change management.
* Possess excellent communication skills.
* Evidence of participation in an accreditation process would be desirable.
