In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams in design, construction, operations, and sustainability to support the delivery of new-build data centres.You will contribute to the design of multi-million-euro mechanical systems that support a wide range of customers and technical requirements. If you have strong HVAC/mechanical design skills, experience with critical equipment, and an understanding of constructability, this role may be an excellent fit.This position isfully onsitein Dublin, with access to office space, tools, and all required technical resources.What You'll DoSupport general HVAC and mechanical design activities for critical infrastructure in new-build data centres across EMEAWork on simultaneous projects in multiple geographic regionsReview and approve equipment submittalsManage external design consultancy firms throughout design development and releaseCollaborate with internal engineering, construction, and operations teams to understand technical requirementsTroubleshoot issues and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Actions (CA) for design-related challengesDefine project scopes and support construction phases as neededEngage with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify appropriate mechanical equipmentTravel to project sites to conduct engineering reviews, audits, and site launch supportParticipate in knowledge-sharing and adopt client-specific design standardsContribute creative, practical, and innovative engineering solutionsBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline5+ years' experience in HVAC, data centre cooling, electronics cooling, or building servicesAbility to research emerging technologies, designs, and construction methods for data centre environmentsAbility to progress new design concepts through exploration, development, and deploymentStrong business case analysis skills to support technical decision-makingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsChartered Engineer status and/or Master's degree in Mechanical EngineeringExperience in data centre or mission-critical facility design (Pharmaceutical, Hospital, Semi-Conductor, etc.)Understanding of BIM workflows and CFD modellingExperience managing consultants through design, construction, and project executionBackground in fast-track design/build or major upgrade projectsPrevious exposure to large-scale technical operations or compute environmentsStrong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulatory requirementsA Day in the LifeYou'll work as a creative problem-solver, interpreting complex technical requirements and translating them into robust mechanical system designs.
