Job Description
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the development of clinical engineering within Beaumont Hospital. This involves working closely with the Chief Clinical Engineering Technician and the clinical engineering team to drive innovation and excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring the provision of technical support to electro medical equipment across various hospital departments.
* Developing systems and processes to streamline clinical engineering services, with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
* Leading the development of Clinical Engineering PPPGs and KPIs, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.
Additionally, the post holder will be required to:
* Have a good understanding of Medical Devices Regulations and their application in the hospital environment.
* Participate in educating other hospital staff on the same.
* Ensure medical device vigilance processes are managed within the area of responsibility.
* Apply analytical expertise to provide reports and analysis on electro medical equipment.
* Prepare reports on equipment performance and life cycle costs.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Candidates must hold a recognised qualification at National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), Level 7 or higher, in one of the following engineering disciplines:
* Electronic
* Electrical
* Instrument Physics
* Industrial Instrumentation
* Applied Physics
* Mechanical
* Mechatronic
* Biomedical Engineering
Candidates must also possess a minimum of five years postgraduate satisfactory and relevant experience in an appropriate medical industrial field, including at least three years in a clinical engineering environment.
Furthermore, candidates must have a high standard of suitability and administrative capacity for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
