Senior Data Engineer (Fixed Term Contract) at CyberSentriq
Contract Duration: 6 Months. Location: Galway, Hybrid (Remote considered).
Company context: CyberSentriq is building a high-growth cybersecurity platform with AI-driven capabilities and integrations intended to empower MSPs with advanced threat detection, response, and data protection.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Operations team on a 6-month contract. This role is pivotal in enhancing our data infrastructure, building scalable data models, and supporting new business initiatives that drive customer success. You will leverage AI and automation best practices to deliver high-performance data solutions that enable advanced analytics and reporting across our cybersecurity offerings in the IT channel.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and models using dbt and Snowflake, optimised for customer-centric analytics.
* Build, monitor, and optimise automated data workflows using Python and orchestration tools, ensuring reliability and performance.
* Collaborate with analytics, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate customer and operational requirements into robust technical solutions.
* Apply AI-driven techniques for data enrichment, anomaly detection, and predictive modelling to support proactive customer insights.
* Maintain best practices for version control, testing, CI/CD, and documentation of data models and pipelines.
* Ensure strong governance, data quality, and security across all data processes, aligned with cyber security standards.
* Support and mentor junior data team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Your Story (Qualifications)
* Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a high-growth, customer-focused environment.
* Expertise in: dbt Core (advanced modelling, testing, macros, and package management); Snowflake (warehousing, performance tuning, role/security management); Python (ETL/ELT scripting, API integration, automation).
* Strong SQL skills and understanding of advanced data modelling concepts.
* Experience with reproducible, scalable data workflows and orchestration tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering measurable business impact through data.
* Familiarity with Prefect for workflow orchestration.
* Experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, ECS).
* Knowledge of enterprise BI governance and compliance practices.
