Electrical Engineer Technician Lead
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer Technician to lead and develop a structured maintenance program, ensuring alignment with best practices and operational targets. The successful candidate will implement and manage condition monitoring systems to proactively identify equipment degradation and avoid unplanned downtime.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) and possess excellent leadership and people development skills. They will be responsible for coordinating and supervising electrical and instrumentation (E&I) maintenance activities, including PPM schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop a structured maintenance program, ensuring alignment with best practices and operational targets.
* Implement and manage condition monitoring systems to proactively identify equipment degradation and avoid unplanned downtime.
* Coordinate and supervise electrical and instrumentation (E&I) maintenance activities, including PPM schedules.
* Troubleshoot and repair faults across electrical systems, control panels, PLCs, HMIs, and instrumentation (flow, temperature, pressure, etc.).
* Lead the rollout and ongoing development of the OEE system to monitor performance, identify losses, and support data-driven improvements.
* Support and deliver continuous improvement projects, collaborating cross-functionally with production, quality, and operations.
* Champion RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and corrective action implementation.
* Ensure compliance with national electrical standards and internal safety and quality procedures.
* Support commissioning of new equipment and E&I upgrades.
* Maintain accurate records in the sites CMMS.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior technicians.
* Ensure all work adheres to LOTO, permit-to-work, and other site safety systems.
Requirements:
* Time-served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent Level 6/7 qualification in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation.
* 5+ years experience in a similar role within FMCG, food & beverage, or a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Proven experience implementing and managing maintenance programs and condition-based monitoring.
* Hands-on experience with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley), drives, controls, and calibration of industrial instrumentation.
* Working knowledge of OEE systems and performance improvement tools.
* Strong leadership and people development skills.
* Proficiency with CMMS platforms (SAP, Maximo, etc.).
