Our client, a multinational pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Sligo on a 12-month contract.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with engineering and operations to support pharma manufacturing in compliance with safety, regulatory, and organizational standards.
2. Participate in design and project discussions to help build equipment reliability before installation.
3. Develop, document, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for new equipment.
4. Ensure commissioning and critical spare parts are identified, received, and properly cataloged.
5. Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), equipment commissioning, and qualification.
6. Review and execute commissioning, qualification, and validation protocols in line with project schedules.
7. Review and approve process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P\&IDs), specifications, and equipment layouts.
8. Perform daily preventive and demand-based maintenance on manufacturing and utility systems.
9. Manage the site's Predictive Maintenance program, including oversight of condition monitoring contracts and follow-up actions.
10. Support equipment and process upgrades as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
11. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in line with engineering procedures.
12. Liaise with internal/external engineering teams and contractors for equipment installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
13. Assist in preparing for and ensuring success during external inspections and internal audits.
14. Supervise and coordinate external contractors to ensure safe and compliant work practices.
Requirements:
15. A Certification, Degree or Trade Qualification in Engineering or a relevant field.
16. Minimum of 3 years experience in a highly regulated manufacturing (Pharma/Biologics/Medical Device) environment.
17. Experience in instrumentation/PLC troubleshooting.
