Health Sciences Admissions Advisor - 9 month Contract
As a Health Sciences Admissions Advisor with Portobello Institute, the purpose of your role is to engage with potential students to understand their career ambitions, their needs and how the programme portfolio and value proposition within Portobello Institute can best meet those needs. You will nurture students along the path of enrolment, offering the right information at the right point along the way. You will arrange appointment for potential students to speak with experts within Portobello and to follow-up and support them with the admissions process.
You will be responsible for providing information with integrity, honesty and accuracy, enrolling the right student on the right course – this will require you to understand who our students are, the pathways we offer and why they should choose Portobello Institute. You will also understand when Portobello is not the right choice, acting with integrity and honesty.
You will enjoy working as part of the Admissions team and you enjoy taking responsibility to achieve your own targets. You are confident, using your initiative to self-generate leads through outbound activity and engagement with external professional and industry stakeholders.
Giving forecasts based on confident analysis of potential enrolments is an important function of your role. A positive attitude is vital with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organisation.
Job Description
We are looking for an Admissions Advisor to become part of our Admissions team and contribute to our growth strategy. Our portfolio is varied providing our team with an opportunity to take responsibility for a diverse suite of programmes and sectors.
You will be high-performing and with a desire for excellence and a drive to reach targets. You will have a good understanding of sales and the sales process as it relates to student recruitment.
This role requires you to have a high level of interpersonal skills, you have empathy for other people. You can listen and ask open relevant questions. You can solve problems, finding the right pathway for students with complex experiences by listening and offering accurate information. You have attention to detail, with CRM systems knowledge and good record keeping skills.
You can build and maintain relationships with stakeholders varying from industry partners to other members of our admissions and programme management teams.
Responsibilities:
Actively engage with students through email, inbound and outbound calls and in person to understand their needs and wants, with the aim of enrolling the right person on the right course.
Liaise with subject matter experts, tutors, programme leads, current students and graduates to arrange meetings with prospective students.
Maintain accurate records and up to date information, completing application information to the standards as required by our university partners.
Monitor key competitors and carry out regular competitor analysis to include programme offering, promotional offers and pricing to ensure our offering remains competitive and relevant. Link information and insights to offer informed guidance of market opportunities.
Report using evidence and data to analyse performance, give an understanding of knowns and unknowns to advise on target achievement, balance risk and protect the values of Portobello.
Collaborate with the marketing team on programmes to maximise awareness and bookings, providing and contributing to analysis afterwards.

Recommended to have:
Sales experience - 2+ years a must.
Health Science qualification is an advantage
A QQI level 6 qualification preferred.
Experience of Hubspot or similar CRM.
