Job Title: Technical Director of BIM
Overview
PM Group is a leading engineering, architecture, project and construction management firm with offices in Europe, Asia, and the US. Our multidisciplinary team of 3,500 people delivers complex projects in various sectors.
An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Director of BIM to develop and lead this discipline within the company. This role will contribute strategically to our future growth.
You will work closely with the Group Head of DELPD and other Discipline Technical Directors to determine how we efficiently deliver BIM services across the company. You will contribute significantly to improved performance, safe asset delivery, and a healthy workforce.
This senior appointment reports directly to the Group Head of DELPD, responsible for leadership, governance, troubleshooting, and defining ways of working in BIM. We offer flexible working arrangements, including a hybrid policy, and an employee-owned share scheme.

Responsibilities:
1. PM Group Strategy for BIM
* Develop a strategy for BIM across the company to forecast and plan required capability and capacity.
* Support Business Units with strengthening and growing departments, including profiling, competency gaps, and training needs.
* Work with pillars like Architecture, Engineering, CQV, Projects, and Environmental to align and develop cross-functional competencies targeted at key sectors and technologies.
* Define design activities and deliverables required to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
2. Digitalisation of Business Processes / Ways of Working
* Develop a strategy for BIM across the company to forecast and plan required capability and capacity.
* Support Business Units with strengthening and growing departments, including profiling, competency gaps, and training needs.
* Develop targeted SME areas within BIM.
* Work with pillars like Architecture, Engineering, CQV, Projects, and Environmental to align and develop cross-functional competencies targeted at key sectors and technologies.
* Define design activities and deliverables required to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
3. Governance of Design Delivery
* Support input to key proposals as requested by pillars.
* Work with the Group Head of DELPD to establish a 'watch list' of key projects based on design challenge and technical integrity risk.
* Influence early stages of design on key projects.
* Review BEPs and contractual documents to audit standardization efforts and provide input to end-of-concept reviews for high-risk projects.
4. Troubleshooting
* Be a first responder for critical issues regarding BIM design across the company.
* Meet with senior members of both our and customer teams.
* Acknowledge corrective actions and agree on way forward.
* Act as Technical Sponsor for corrective actions and update PM Group Management on progress.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
Attributes
* Prior experience with BIM Design.
* Safe asset focus.
* At least 15 years of relevant industry experience with 10+ years at senior management level.
* Good knowledge of industries like Pharma, EV battery, Food, and Med Tech.
* Proven track record in leading a detailed BIM Design project.
* Member of a recognized Engineering professional body.
* Strong technical, commercial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Fluent English.
