Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
A leading Main Contractor is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing activity schedules, bills of quantities, and tender documentations. They will also attend interviews, conduct tender analysis, and prepare recommendation reports. Additionally, they will perform risk management, value engineering, and cost control, as well as monitor and prepare valuations with clients.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare activity schedules and bills of quantities in accordance with methods of measurement.
* Presentation of tender and contract documentations.
* Attending interviews and conducting full tender analysis and comparisons.
* Preparing recommendation reports.
* Performing risk, value management, and cost control.
* Preparing/agreeing monthly valuations with clients.
* Monitoring and preparing costings for delay/EOT price/ agreeing variations with internal team and client agreement.
* Agreement of final account with client in prompt manner.
* Allocating work to subcontractors.
* Monthly sub-contractor payment certification, agreement of variations/final accounts.
* Assessing contractor applications, along with any changes, making recommendations, raising payment certificates, and preparing general correspondence to sub-contracts.
* Providing advice on contractual claims.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree or HND qualified in a relevant field.
* Extensive experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
* Main Contractor background.
* Strong IT skills and conversant with standard software packages.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
* Great commercial skills and awareness.
* Good level of analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Ability to identify and resolve problems at an early stage.
* A practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinking.
* Negotiation and team working skills and the ability to motivate.
