Posted on: 27th August, 2025Location: Letterkenny Wastewater Treatment Plant, Pumping Station and Sludge Treatment CentreRef No. - IRE_OP_LK_148We are currently hiring a maintenance fitter/operator to be based in Letterkenny Wastewater Treatment Plant, Pumping Station and Sludge Treatment Centre.Duties:Your main duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:Preventive Maintenance:Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical equipment.Regularly inspect and maintain mechanical systems to prevent unexpected failures.Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and upload to Geopal.Fault Finding:Conduct thorough fault-finding investigations to identify mechanical issues within systems.Use diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint the root cause of faults.Develop and implement strategies to prevent recurring faults.Emergency Breakdowns:Respond promptly to emergency calls for mechanical issues in the water and wastewater sites notified to you.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures to minimise downtime.Implement quick and effective solutions to restore functionality.Document changes made during repair work for invoicing and for future reference.Mechanical Surveys:Perform mechanical surveys to assess the condition of existing mechanical systems.Identify potential areas for improvement or upgrades.Compile detailed reports on survey findings and recommendations.Testing and Commissioning:Conduct comprehensive testing of mechanical systems to verify proper functionality.Safety Compliance:Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines during mechanical work.Conduct safety assessments and RAMS to identify potential hazards before starting a job.Implement corrective actions to address safety concernsOperateDevelop a good understanding of how the sites work and how to operate the plant, equipment and machinery at the sites.Assist with the operation and maintenance of the plant.Follow all planned and preventative maintenance work requirements, including following RAMS and H&S requirements, and document them on the Geopal system.Update the Monthly status reports as required.Supervise contractors when they are on site.Manage relationships with key stakeholders as required.Provide on-call cover one week in three.To apply, please complete the form below.
