Bar Manager – The role
Operations Management
Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company standards.
Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety across all bar areas.
Ensure adherence to licensing laws, health & safety standards, and hygiene regulations.
Staff Leadership & Training
Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage during event days.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching when needed.
Foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
Customer Service
Ensure consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.
Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
Maintain a welcoming atmosphere and promote memorable guest experiences.
Inventory & Stock Control
Manage beverage stock, including ordering, receiving, and rotation.
Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile variances.
Implement cost control strategies to minimise waste and maximise profitability.
Financial Performance
Track bar sales, labour costs, and profitability.
Develop promotions, special events, and cocktail menus to boost revenue.
Prepare budgets and analyse financial reports.
Beverage Quality & Menu Development
Oversee preparation and presentation of cocktails and beverages.
Create or update bar menus in collaboration with leadership or executive chefs.
Stay informed about drink trends and introduce innovative offerings.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure all staff adhere to alcohol service laws and age verification protocols.
Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections.
Oversee training for responsible alcohol service.
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Bar Manager.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Deep knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and bar equipment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
