Senior QA Engineer | Payments Programme | Contract - ONSITE Dublin or Nenagh
Quality role on a large-scale payments modernisation programme — legacy platform being replaced with event-driven microservices on AWS. Kafka, Quarkus, Testcontainers, CI/CD. Modern stack, proper engineering standards.
This is a hands‑on coding role embedded in a cross-functional squad. If you’re a manual tester looking to transition or a QA manager who’s stepped back from writing code — this probably isn’t it. What you’ll actually be doing:
Challenging acceptance criteria during refinement — surfacing missing scenarios before a line of code is written
Writing test automation integrated directly into the CI pipeline
Designing parity comparisons between the legacy platform and the new system
Working Kafka — publishing test events, consuming outputs, debugging message flows
Keeping the test suite lean, fast, and meaningful (coverage numbers are not the goal)
Owning quality metrics and surfacing risks early
What they need:
Hands‑on test automation experience — you write the code, not just the plan
Comfortable with Docker and Testcontainers
Agile team delivery experience, ideally with genuine refinement involvement
Payments or fin services background is a plus, as is any legacy migration/validation experience.
Good programme, interesting technical challenge, quality‑first culture.
