About The Role

As an Electronic Health Record SME, you will leverage your background and expertise in Epic or Cerner systems to act as a primary advisor between end-users, project team members and other information technology resources. Your guidance will shape transformation healthcare solutions. Applicants should have expertise in multiple modules and can inform best practices and contribute to building team knowledge and new capabilities.

Working Arrangements
This role supports relocation to Letterkenny for those outside Ireland and is open to sponsorship. While typical hours align with Irish business hours, ad-hoc after-hours calls may be required. Some roles may participate in an after-hours on-call rotation. Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and a hybrid work week with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Primary responsibilities of the EHR Subject Matter Expert (Epic/Cerner):
* Lead medium to large complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including design, build, and test phases
* Provide Epic product function, design, build, and testing expertise for assigned Epic module(s)
* Collaborate with end users to design and build the Epic system in a timely and professional manner and implement corrective configuration or enhancements
* Participate in design and validation sessions and ensure appropriate documentation, follow-up and issue escalation
* Provide technical and/or clinical consultation including application configuration. Review, analyze, and evaluate system needs to develop recommendations for customers
* Serve as a mentor/subject matter expert to local and client-based team members
* Facilitate best practice and knowledge sharing sessions to enable growth of existing and new capabilities
* Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software
* Facilitate communication with stakeholders from initial requirements to final implementation
