Embark on a challenging role as an Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Datacentre Engineering. Our team is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all AWS global infrastructure.
As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
A typical day involves producing design specifications, marking up and checking design drawings, supporting on-site activities, site inspections, equipment qualifications, and presenting designs to stakeholders.
The team consists of Electrical Engineers with Design Engineering backgrounds, typically having worked as Consulting Engineers with wide-ranging experience. We also welcome candidates with practical knowledge of the systems they are designing.

Key responsibilities include:
* Producing design specifications, marking up, and checking design drawings
* Supporting on-site activities, site inspections, equipment qualifications, and presentations to stakeholders
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of high-quality designs
* Developing complex business cases to justify technical decisions and present to management
Required skills and qualifications include:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering with cumulative experience in power systems and mission-critical electrical design
* Excellent understanding of European Electrical Codes and detailed knowledge of critical LV, MV, and HV electrical equipment
* Ability to research new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
Preferred qualifications include:
* Chartered Engineer with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and experience directly related to data center or mission-critical facility design
* Previous consultant negotiation and management skills associated with design, construction, and project managing of fast-track design/build projects and multiple significant upgrade projects
* Extensive knowledge of building codes and regulations and ability to think outside the box to find creative solutions
