We are seeking an experienced project-based Quality Manager to join our Civil Engineering division in Northern Ireland.
About the Role:
This is a permanent opportunity to oversee and monitor quality management controls throughout the design, procurement, and construction phases of the project.
* Manage quality requirements for structures, earthworks, drainage, and surfacing on a linear road project
* Liaise and communicate with multiple stakeholders and JV partners
* Report on performance and maintain live data to track quality progress throughout the project
The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of the Construction Industry with experience in Quality Management. They will be able to manage time effectively, ensuring strict deadlines are met and work is prioritised appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Regional Lead and Head of Quality to ensure processes needed for the management system are properly established, implemented, and maintained
* Support the establishment of the site-specific and integrated Framework Quality Management System, including plans, procedures, guides, templates, training materials, and tools
* Provide guidance and review/comment on deliverables such as Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans, Work Procedures, Material Approval Forms, Quality checklist Templates, Test & Material Registers, Handover Reports
* Participate in risk management and lessons learned, providing input and guidance on quality requirements for procurement packages
* Support the implementation of the quality management system through quality training and coaching
* Identify, plan, and conduct surveillance checks and audits to verify that management system and work processes are being properly performed
* Auditing will include supplier assessment audits
* Intervene when the quality of works is at risk or has been affected, escalating to senior management level as appropriate to ensure proper resolution
* Management of non-conformances in products and processes to ensure identification and resolution with robust corrective and preventive actions
* Report on the performance of the management system, on opportunities for improvement, and on the need for change or innovation
Requirements:
* Hold a degree-level construction-related qualification
* Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the Construction/Civil Engineering Industry with experience in Quality Management
* Robust and confident to challenge construction teams and subcontractors if high standards aren't adhered to
* Sharp communication skills with the ability to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders
* Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail
