Electrical Design Engineer Role
Job Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering and design to join our team. This is a mid-senior level role that requires a third-level qualification in electrical engineering/electrical design engineering and 3+ years of experience working on large industrial plant projects.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, including proficiency in related electrical design software/packages. They will also possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure technical compliance on all assigned projects.
* Manage consultant selections and agree responsibility assignment matrices.
* Attend design team meetings and collaborate with other team members.
* Produce design management plans for projects.
* Implement central engineering checklists on each project.
* Manage design for safe manufacturing assembly when required.
* Monitor schedule and trackers throughout the course of assigned projects.
* Carry out technical submittal and working drawing reviews.
* Assist with workload on projects (technical submittals, drawing reviews, RFIs etc).
* Review orders and ensure best value is obtained.
* Value engineer with consultants and teams.
* Ensure compliance with ISO19650 requirements.
* Produce reports for assigned projects and issue to direct manager.
* Assist with tenders for new projects when required.
* Support estimating department and pre-construction team.
* Set up value engineering log for the group.
Essential Criteria
* Third level qualification in electrical engineering/electrical design engineering.
* 3+ years experience working on large industrial plant projects.
* Proficiency in related electrical design software/package.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Pride in quality and presentation of work.
* Able to work from headquarters.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working on datacentres would be an advantage but not essential.
