Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Principal Equipment Design Specialist to oversee the design and procurement phases of equipment modules and packages. This is an exciting opportunity to work in partnership with clients and vendors to deliver high-quality results.
Main Responsibilities:
* Oversee the design and procurement phases of equipment modules and packages
* Generate Data Sheets, Material Requisitions & Enquiry Packages for procurement of equipment
* Evaluate technical bids from vendors in compliance with client specifications
* Develop Technical Specifications in compliance with client requirements
* Manage the development of each package through Kick-off meetings, Design Reviews, FAT's etc.
* Collaborate with suppliers to ensure packages are designed, manufactured and tested as per project requirements
* Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, client project management and other disciplines to provide excellent service
* Interface with client design team/end users
* Optimize mechanical designs/site support
* Deliver agreed design scope within scheduled timelines and budget constraints
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Engineers with a primary degree in Chemical/Process Engineering and relevant process experience may also be considered)
* 10+ years of design experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical sectors
* Able to lead a design team and coordinate the efforts of others
* Excellent communication skills (ability to lead Technical and Safety reviews Chartered status desirable)
