Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

We’re building one of the world’s largest and most complex networks. The goal is to become "The Infrastructure Platform" to the world. Our customers demand the highest quality and reliability for their services. As we expand, we maintain that quality and reliability. We look for innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand, while driving complex issues to resolution. We’re seeking a highly motivated, technically savvy Fiber Engineer to help develop and scale one of the world’s largest and most complex networks.


Responsibilities

* Interface with internal (Data Center Engineering, Business Developers, Deployment Engineers, Tool Automation) and external stakeholders (Construction Vendors, Engineering Firms).
* Create engineering design and documents, single line drawings, cable routing, and splicing work packages in a GIS system.
* Ingest and audit GIS data for completeness and accuracy.
* Optimize processes to improve efficiency and delivery.
* Willing to travel 10% of the time.

Basic Qualifications

* BS or MS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in an IT-related field.
* 2+ years experience working in GIS Systems.
* 2+ years experience in project/program management with a proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
* 2+ years of data, inventory, or records management.


Preferred Qualifications

* Experience using GE Smallworld in GIS applications.
