We are hiring for our client, a fast-growing leader in robotics and precision automation, to recruit a Senior Controls Engineer to join their expanding team. With a focus on the design and delivery of highly automated, custom-built machinery and intelligent robotic systems, the company operates across sectors including Med-Tech, Automotive and Food & Beverage.

The Role:
* Lead the design, programming, and implementation of PLC control systems for bespoke machines and robotic systems
* Support automation upgrades and commissioning for production and assembly lines
* Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
* Analyse customer workflows and production bottlenecks to design intelligent, efficient control architectures
* Conduct testing, fault-finding, and troubleshooting of both new and legacy systems
* Support project delivery from concept through to on-site commissioning and handover
* Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement processes
The Person:
* Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering
* Minimum 5 years' experience in PLC programming (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and robot integration
* Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, control panels, and system safety
* Experience designing systems for high-speed manufacturing or precision machinery preferred
* Comfortable managing multiple projects and engaging with clients to tailor technical solutions
* A practical mindset with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites across Ireland and the UK
