Post Summary Applications are invited for the above post, which will support the Head of Discipline of Clinical Medicine and the School of Medicine educational Division at the Saint James's Hospital campus.
The main purpose of the post is to support the delivery of the undergraduate teaching programme in medicine and the successful candidate will be expected to spend approximately one-half of their working week undertaking teaching and related programme activities.
The successful candidate will also be able to undertake research activities (with the potential to complete a higher degree) (up to 40% of their working week) and clinical activities (up to 10% of their working week i.e. one clinical session).
The workplan may vary during the academic year with additional teaching commitments required during examination weeks and for the delivery of specified teaching activities.
The successful candidates must complete all relevant pre-employment checks upon commencement of post, including but not limited to; be registered with the Irish Medical Council, be cleared from a Garda vetting, and be cleared from occupational health perspective by the relevant hospital.
Post status: The appointment is offered on a one-year fixed term contract basis.
The appointment is available from Monday, 13th July **** .
This role is designated as a specifically designed training position for medical doctors.
The nature of the role is intended to provide structured learning and development within a defined period, after which the employee is expected to progress to the next stage of their career.
As such, the role is not intended for long-term employment beyond the duration of the training program.
The post is not being offered on a permanent basis as the training program is finite.
Salary: This appointment will be made on the HSE Registrar scale €68,891 - €81,126 per annum scale or HSE Specialist Registrar scale €77,234 - €96,158 per annum in line with current public pay policy.
Hours of Post for academic staff are those as prescribed under Public Service Agreements.
