Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Warehouse Day Supervisor to manage and oversee the day shift operations of our warehouse. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless flow of warehouse activities, including the effective management of forklifts, scanners, and maintaining strict compliance with Operational Environment, Health, and Safety (OEHS) standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, hands-on experience with warehouse machinery, and a proven track record in optimising warehouse processes.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the efficient loading and unloading of freight, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse activities and any operational issues to senior management.Ensure the timely and accurate processing of shipments, coordinating the receipt and dispatch of goods.Lead, train, and mentor the day shift warehouse team to achieve daily productivity targets and operational goals.Promote open communication, team collaboration, and a positive working environment.Oversee the operation and maintenance of warehouse machinery, including forklifts and scanners, to ensure optimal performance and safety.Train team members on the proper usage of warehouse machinery, forklifts and scanners, ensuring compliance with OEHS protocols.Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.Conduct regular safety checks, risk assessments, and machinery inspections.Address any safety concerns promptly, ensuring corrective measures are in place.Maintain a clean, well-organised warehouse by implementing and monitoring housekeeping standards.Ensure all warehouse areas are free of hazards and are kept in accordance with OEHS requirements.Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, streamline workflows, and reduce operational costs.Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance overall warehouse efficiency.Foster a culture of continuous improvement among the warehouse team.Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and supervisory skills, with previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.· Knowledge of safety regulations and OEHS standards.Experience in operating forklifts and other manual handling equipment.Strong IT systems knowledge, particularly in warehouse management systemsAbility to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high standards of accuracy.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in a warehousing or transportation environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Certified forklift operator and Manual handlingStrong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.Demonstrated experience in implementing safety protocols and managing warehouse machineryPersonal AttributesCustomer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.RequiredForklift experience and a valid forklift license are required.Valid Manual Handling certificate is essentialJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:Bike to work schemeEmployee assistance programWork Location: In person
