Job Purpose

We are currently recruiting for the position ofLending Officerto join the Credit Union.

Due to continual growth and increased demand, we are looking to recruit a new Lender onto our NRCU lending team.The purpose of the Lender position is to facilitate lending to members of the credit union in accordance with the policies governing lending as laid down by the Board of Directors and relevant legislation. The Lender may also be responsible for the administration processes of the lending department and provide service support to the member services team. The successful candidate will be expected to meet specific targets. NRCU providesa variety of different loan products, so experience in personal lending is required, and experience in SME, Agri, or mortgage lending would be desirable to help the credit union continue to meet our growing demand.


Main Responsibilities

* Completing the end-to-end lending process across the range of NRCU products, including, home improvement and personal lending.
* Conducting loan interviews with members and obtaining the necessary underwriting information.
* Completing detailed analysis and assessment in underwriting each type of loan application.
* Operating within the lending discretion framework.
* Establishing positive and proactive relationships with the members of the credit union.
* Maintaining lending records to a high audit standard in line with organisational policies and procedures.
* Promoting and developing the lending offering of New Ross Credit Union within its catchment area.
* Strong lending analytical ability and proven judgment.
* Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and people management skills.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* ICT literacy and high proficiency in MS Office Suite.
* Proven ability to work off own initiative to deliver agreed targets.


Qualifications

* Minimum 3-5 year’s lending experience in the Financial Services Sector (credit union/banking experience desirable)
* A minimum qualification of APA or Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) or willingness to work towards this qualification within a defined time period.
* Experience in mortgages, SME or Agri lending will be desirable.

Closing date for applications will be Tuesday the 11th of November 2025 at 5:00 p.m.

This position will be a full-time position and will be subject to a minimum probationary period of 6 months. Travel between branches may be required.

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications & experience.

The position involves working 37.50 hours per week, based over Monday to Saturday. This position will involve working Saturdays. The rostered day off is subject to variation.
