Key Role: Clinical Support Officer

Job Description:

The Clinical Support Officer plays a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and supporting high-quality clinical care practices across all service areas. This encompasses delivering staff training, ensuring compliance with national policies, facilitating health assessments, and managing clinical risks.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Professional Guidance & Practical Support: Provide expert guidance and hands-on support to staff on clinical care, behavioral supports, and healthcare planning.
* Developing Support Plans: Create and implement customized support plans and strategies tailored to the needs of service users.
* Risk Assessment & Management: Advise teams on risk assessment and management, promoting a proactive safety culture.
* Participating in Multidisciplinary Meetings: Join multidisciplinary meetings to assess and improve care quality.
* Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with service users, families, and support teams to review and update care and transition plans.
* Clinical Incident Reviews: Conduct reviews and make recommendations following clinical incidents or service issues.

Training & Development:

* Staff Training Programs: Design and deliver staff training programs in line with evidence-based practice, covering areas such as Medication Management and Positive Behaviour Support.
* Learning Objectives & Assessment Tools: Develop learning objectives and assessment tools to measure staff competency.
* Regular Review & Revision: Review and revise training content regularly to reflect legislative updates and sector developments.
* Supporting Staff Growth: Support staff who require additional training due to identified gaps or incidents.

Quality & Compliance:

* National Standards & Policies: Promote compliance with national standards and internal policies across all service settings.
* Standard Operating Procedures: Contribute to the development and roll-out of standard operating procedures.
* Service Evaluations: Participate in audits and service evaluations to monitor care quality and staff performance.
* Documentation & Reporting: Ensure accurate and confidential documentation and reporting in line with GDPR and statutory obligations.

Service Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

* Innovative Care Models: Support the development of innovative care models and service enhancements.
* Quality Improvement Initiatives: Lead or contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
* Evidence-Based Decision-Making: Use clinical data and audits to guide evidence-based decision-making.
* Learning Culture: Foster a learning culture by mentoring staff and promoting reflective practice.
