Manufacturing Operations Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee the manufacturing process in our facility. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in lean manufacturing, with experience in managing day-to-day production operations, including workforce performance, machinery, and material flow. They will also possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to interpret production data and apply analytical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and Organize Production Schedules: Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
2. Manage Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day production operations, including workforce performance, machinery, and material flow.
3. Monitor Production Metrics: Analyze and improve production KPIs (output, efficiency, downtime, scrap, OEE, etc.) to ensure optimal performance.
4. Ensure Compliance: Ensure adherence to health & safety, quality, and environmental standards (ISO, Lean, 5S, etc.).
5. Lead and Motivate Team Members: Foster a positive work environment and motivate team members to achieve performance targets.
6. Collaborate with Departments: Work closely with supply chain, maintenance, and quality departments to ensure smooth workflow.
7. Implement Continuous Improvement: Drive lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost reduction initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
8. Budget Management: Manage budgets for labour, materials, and overhead costs to optimize resource allocation.
9. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports for senior management on production performance and improvement plans.
10. New Product Introductions: Support new product introductions, process changes, and implement improvements in mean-time-to-failure / product failure rate.
11. Change Management: Communicate required changes to improve build and implement through the design team.
12. Service Planning: Plan service teams for installations, servicing, and breakdowns.
13. Logistics Management: Manage and organize logistics to ensure efficient distribution and delivery.
