Team / Role Overview
The Tax Reclaim Analyst is a developing professional role. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and evaluating processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own team.
What you'll do
* Responsible for the overall management of the tax liabilities of Citi, both directly and in connection with transactions with clients, including related compliance, financial reporting, planning and controversy processes.
* Contributes to the planning, accounting, filing and the reporting of tax liability of the company.
* Assists in determining and compiling information required to satisfy income tax filing and related requirements at all levels of jurisdiction.
* May participate in managing payments to tax authorities in compliance with specific tax regulations.
* Frequent interaction with the business, custodians and the asset services team to provide guidance on taxable markets and events, and provide supporting evidence to tax authorities inquiries on filed reclaims.
* Advises on procedures and concepts in technical/subject area and integrates with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub function / job family.
* Improves process efficiencies in harmony with unit goals.
* Uses conceptual/practical grounding in applying policies to the business.
* Perform general ledger reconciliations.
* Assess risk when business decisions are made, with emphasis on the firm's reputation, safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, and escalation of control issues with transparency.
What we'll need from you
* Relevant experience in a similar role within Tax Reclaim relief at source.
* Bachelor's degree.
* Support technology projects from a tax technical perspective and perform UAT testing.
* Work as part of a team to ensure all tax reclaim and relief-at-source activities are covered to a high standard with a ‘no surprises’ attitude.
* Support audits by tax authorities and Internal Audit.
