Location: WexfordContract: Full-Time | PermanentSalary: From €36,000 per annumOverviewOur client is a well-established business membership organisation based in County Wexford, dedicated to supporting local enterprise, fostering business connections, and driving regional economic development.They are seeking a proactive and commercially focused Development and Events Officer to drive membership growth, strengthen relationships with existing members, and lead the planning and delivery of business and networking events across the Wexford District.This is a varied, outward-facing role combining business development, member engagement, stakeholder liaison, and event management.Key ResponsibilitiesMembership Development & EngagementAct as a key point of contact for members, providing day-to-day engagement and support.Conduct onboarding calls with new members, clearly communicating membership benefits and services.Build strong, long-term relationships by understanding member needs and identifying opportunities to support business growth.Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective members within the assigned district.Membership & Revenue GrowthAchieve annual membership growth targets of 10%.Support the development of Corporate Partnerships in line with agreed growth objectives.Follow up on outstanding membership fees and invoices within the district.Promotion, Advocacy & PolicyPromote the organisations activities, initiatives, and member interests at local level.Liaise with Municipal Districts and District Committees regarding local business issues and feedback.Collaborate with internal committees to identify lobbying and policy support opportunities for members.Stay informed on business news and developments relevant to the membership base.Operational & Programme SupportManage the processing and remittance of local Shop Local gift cards.Promote training and upskilling programmes to members.Regularly review organisational activity and recommend improvements.Event Management (Specialist Area)Prepare detailed event briefs including objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.Plan and coordinate end-to-end event delivery, including venues, speakers, sponsors, and suppliers.Work with the Communications function to promote events via social media and digital channels.Manage event registrations, attendee lists, and badge preparation.Host and facilitate networking at events, gathering feedback and insights.Act as the main liaison for event speakers and key stakeholders.Candidate ProfileEssentialMinimum 4–5 years experience in business development, sales, membership organisations, or event management.Strong commercial awareness and relationship management skills.Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.Relevant qualification in Sales, Business, or Event Management.DesirableExperience in a membership-led, representative, or policy-driven organisation.Knowledge of the local business or enterprise environment.Working Conditions & BenefitsFull-time, permanent position based in County WexfordCompany eventsOn-site parkingWork authorisation in Ireland requiredApplication ProcessCandidates interested in this opportunity should submit a CV and brief cover letter outlining relevant experience.
