As part of this expansion, we are looking for an energy pricing lead to join our team of energy and commodity market experts.The team fosters a strong spirit of collaboration, continuous development, and excellence. Our work is heavily data based; therefore, you should have a third level degree in a quantitative subject such as engineering, mathematics, finance / economics, or the sciences. Work experience in the industry is desired for the role with any gas and electricity pricing or trading experience being highly advantageous.You should have a good understanding of electricity and gas markets, and a desire to know and understand more about how our customers consume energy and how wholesale and retail energy markets will develop in the future. You will support the design of electricity, gas and heat tariffs for our commercial customer base and will also support residential pricing. You should be able to take the lead in implementing, tracking and trading hedge strategies, along with providing best in class analysis of the markets we operate in. As we are a data driven company, Ideally, you should have an understanding, or the ability to gain an understanding of tools used to store, query and process databases. Additionally, you will be involved in supporting customers in their transition to renewable energy.Key ResponsibilitiesThe RoleThe role requires close co-operation with our Forward Trading, Finance and Commercial sales teams. It will focus primarily on two areas:Commercially Focused:Support the production of commercial & Residential electricity, gas and heat prices and tariffsPreparation of price and information for tenders/quotes for larger customersTrack prices offered and benchmarkConduct competitor analysis and help us understand the market we operate inCritique and evaluate competitor offerings, use these findings to better serve our existing commercial customers and aid in the expansion and diversity of our customer base.Work closely with our billing teams to ensure accurate and timely billing through the customer lifecycle.Work with our hedging team to manage and report on price riskAssist in the day to day trading activities of the company and partake in a rota executing trades for commercial customersWork with management to produce board reports on our commercial activities and exposuresProduce tools to help automate new or existing business processesReport activities or findings in a concise and transparent mannerCustomer Focused:Answering price related queries for both internal and external customersProvide trading support to our customers and serve as a point of contactAssist in the provision of market insights to our customer baseSupport the commercial sales and billing teams, working closing to resolve customer queries and ensure a high level of customer experienceAssist commercial customers in their green energy transition by providing guidance on renewable energy solutions, including supporting Power Purchase Agreements with renewable assets, Guarantees of Origin pricing and Biomethane pricingSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseFive years' experience in the energy industry within supply and / or generation, ideally Three + years direct experience in electricity and gas customer pricing.Deep understanding of the Irish Electricity and Gas marketsExtensive knowledge of electricity and gas customer pricing from first principlesBe resourceful and proactive.
