Senior Psychologist – Childrens Disability Services
Permanent Part-Time (31.5 hours per week)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Psychologist to join a dynamic interdisciplinary team supporting children with complex needs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to early intervention and school-age services through evidence-based, family-centred psychological care.
The Role
You will work as a key member of a Childrens Disability Network Team (CDNT), providing psychological assessments, therapeutic interventions, and consultation to families, caregivers, and professionals. The post holder will also contribute to service planning, quality initiatives, and the supervision of junior psychology colleagues.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality psychological services to children and families in line with national disability service models

Conduct cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and developmental assessments

Design and implement individualised therapeutic plans and evidence-informed interventions

Collaborate with families, educators, and MDT colleagues to promote positive outcomes

Provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff or trainees

Engage in service development, research, and audit activities as required
Essential Requirements

A recognised postgraduate qualification in Clinical, Educational, or Counselling Psychology (as validated by the relevant Irish professional body)

Eligible for full registration with the appropriate professional council (e.g. PSI)

Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience, including substantial work with children with disabilities

Demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary team settings

Strong clinical judgement, communication, and organisational skills
Desirable Experience

Expertise in developmental disorders, neurodiversity, or intellectual disability

Experience in Positive Behaviour Support or trauma-informed practice

Familiarity with family-centred models and key working approaches

Involvement in quality improvement, service planning, or evaluation
