Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team in Cork, Ireland. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for creating delicious meals, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.Plan and develop innovative menus that cater to our customers' tastes and dietary requirementsPrepare and cook meals to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and qualityOversee kitchen operations, including staff management and schedulingMaintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulationsManage inventory, place orders, and control costs to ensure efficient kitchen operationsCollaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent customer service and timely food deliveryTrain and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environmentAdapt to changing demands and maintain composure during busy periodsContribute to the development of seasonal menus and special promotionsEnsure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
QualificationsProven experience as a Chef in a professional kitchen settingStrong culinary skills and knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniquesExcellent leadership and team management abilitiesProficiency in menu planning, food preparation, and presentationIn-depth understanding of food safety and hygiene standardsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentStrong organisational and time management skillsCreativity and innovation in developing new dishes and menusExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in inventory management and cost controlAbility to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as requiredNVQ level 1/2 or equivalent culinary qualification (desirable)Additional relevant certifications in food safety or kitchen management (advantageous)
