As a key member of our team, we are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join us in the management of HV substation design works associated with transmission and distribution projects. Our client is a utility infrastructure consultancy and construction company operating extensively within the utilities sector in Ireland, the UK, and internationally. The role is based out of Dublin and will require travel to sites for site reviews and work with onsite field engineers. Key responsibilities include equipment design, drawing preparation & detailing, development of control & protection schematics, wiring schedules, and material specifications.

About the Role

* Designing electrical systems including generators, uninterruptible power suppliers, switchgear, transformers, and earthing systems.
* Preparing detailed drawings and designs using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and EPLAN software.
* Developing control and protection schematics and wiring schedules.
* Ensuring compliance with IEC, EU requirements, and building codes.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project scope and provide technical support during the construction phases.

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (NFQ Level 8).
* 3+ years of relevant industry experience would be an advantage.
* A strong understanding of electrical design principles and practices.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
