PFH are seeking an experienced
AI Architect / AI Cloud Solution Architect
to lead the design, assessment, and integration of AI-enabled solutions within a cloud-based digital evidence management environment (DEMS). The role requires strong hands-on cloud expertise, practical exposure to AI technologies, and the ability to evaluate vendor-proposed AI solutions while ensuring technical, operational, and cost effectiveness. This position plays a critical role in integrating AI engines, external systems, and public data sources while ensuring end-to-end integrity, including maintaining the chain of evidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and architect cloud-based AI solutions, with hands-on involvement in implementation and integration.
* Assess and evaluate AI solutions proposed by multiple vendors, particularly in areas such as object recognition and facial recognition.
* Conduct full cost assessments of AI usage, including infrastructure, licensing, scaling, and operational costs.
* Gather, analyse, and translate business and technical requirements into AI solution designs.
* Support the creation of DEMS RFTs (Request for Tender), with a strong focus on AI capabilities within DEMS platforms.
* Lead or support the integration of AI engines into DEMS solutions, assessing full technical and operational impact, including implications for the chain of evidence.
* Lead or support the integration of internal systems (e.g., Garda systems) into DEMS, including the design and establishment of public upload portals.
* Lead or support the integration of external data sources, such as public CCTV feeds, into DEMS solutions.
* Provide architectural guidance, technical assurance, and stakeholder support throughout the solution lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as an AI Architect, Cloud Solution Architect, or similar role.
* Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
* Practical exposure to AI/ML technologies, particularly computer vision use cases (object recognition, facial recognition).
* Experience evaluating and comparing third-party/vendor AI solutions.
* Strong understanding of AI cost models, including cloud consumption, licensing, and scalability considerations.
* Experience working with Digital Evidence Management Systems (DEMS) or similar secure, regulated platforms (highly desirable).
* Strong system integration experience, including APIs, data ingestion pipelines, and external system connectivity.
* Ability to assess and manage data integrity, security, and chain-of-evidence considerations.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and requirements-gathering skills.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working in law enforcement, justice, or public-sector environments.
* Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and privacy regulations related to AI usage.
* Experience designing public-facing upload portals or citizen-submitted data workflows.
