Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments on admission, accurately document findings, and continuously monitor patient condition.
Develop, implement, evaluate, and update individualized care plans based on patient needs and best practice.
Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in line with current standards, policies, and evidence-based practice.
Administer treatments and prescribed orders accurately, ensuring care is provided in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
Support patient education and discharge planning, ensuring continuity of care and appropriate use of available resources.
Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
Maintain accurate, confidential written and electronic patient records in line with legal and organisational requirements.
Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff, adhering to Infection Prevention and Control guidelines.
Demonstrate professional accountability by working within regulatory standards, engaging in continuous learning, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, while demonstrating flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to respond to changing workloads and emergency situations.
Requirements
Registered in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Minimum of 3 years' experience in an Orthopaedic Theatre setting.
Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
Commitment to ongoing skills training relevant to patient care and clinical practice.
