The role of a Kitchen Operations Assistant is vital to ensuring the efficient operation of the kitchen.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Pre-Service Preparation: Ensure all equipment and appliances are safely turned on and operational each morning, ready for the culinary team.
2. Inventory Management: Receive and check deliveries, accurately recording stock levels, storage, and rotation in accordance with food safety standards.
3. Kitchen Station Setup: Prepare and organize kitchen stations for service, providing chefs with the necessary tools, ingredients, and workspace.
4. Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen, adhering to hygiene and HACCP guidelines.
5. Support during Service: Assist chefs as needed during busy periods, helping with prep or logistics tasks.
6. Dishwashing and Portering: Oversee dishwashing and porter tasks efficiently, maintaining high standards of hygiene.
7. Reporting Incidents: Report any equipment faults, safety concerns, or stock shortages to the Head Chef or Culinary Team Leader.
