Quality Engineer Hummingbird Aero International Company Profile Hummingbird Aero International (HBAI) is an exciting new start up business based in Shannon Ireland dedicated to the design/ manufacture of flight control systems with a particular focus on electromechanical actuation for the aircraft global market, both legacy and the emerging future air mobility (eVTOL) aircraft sector.The founders and shareholders are Hummingbird Aero, based in USA, Shannon Precision Engineering, Realtime Technologies and DPF Engineering all based in Ireland. Role Summary The Company is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support the continued growth of its aerospace flight control systems business based in Shannon, Ireland. Reporting to the General Manager, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company quality function, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards while supporting the companys EASA Part 21G Production Organisation Approval activities. The role will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to maintain product quality, support audits, manage non-conformances and drive continuous improvement within a growing aerospace flight control systems business. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Engineering, Quality, or a related discipline, with at least five years experience in aerospace, aviation, or a regulated manufacturing environment. They will have a strong knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality systems and experience supporting audits and compliance activities. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented and capable of managing the day-to-day quality function within a fast-paced aerospace business. Experience with EASA Part 21G would be an advantage. Summary Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain the company Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and ISO9001 requirements. Support the companys EASA Part 21G Production Organisation Approval application and ongoing compliance activities. Oversee day-to-day quality assurance activities across manufacturing, assembly, and inspection operations. Conduct internal audits and coordinate external customer, regulatory and certification audits. Develop, implement, and monitor quality procedures, processes, and documentation. Lead non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action activities. Monitor supplier quality performance and support supplier approval and audit activities. Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure product and process quality requirements are achieved. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Prepare quality metrics, reports and compliance updates for management review and customer requirements. Prepare inspection requirements and plans for equipment, components, and assemblies. Contribute to calibration plans and procedures, coordinate calibration activities, maintain calibration records, and ensure that calibration for all test, assembly, and inspection equipment and tools remains current. Salary will be very dependent on the level of experience and specific industry knowledge, but we would expect to be in a range €55k to €70k.
