Job Title: Performance Test Engineer Location: Dublin (Hybrid 23 days onsite) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer to join a major transformation programme within the financial services sector.
This is a senior-level role focused on non-functional testing, ensuring systems meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
Key Responsibilities Design and execute performance, load, stress, and endurance tests using industry-standard tools.
Develop and maintain automated performance test scripts and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
Analyse test results to identify bottlenecks and provide actionable recommendations for optimisation.
Prepare clear and concise performance reports for technical and business stakeholders.
Collaborate with developers, architects, and project managers to align performance goals with business requirements.
Configure and manage test environments, ensuring realistic data sets and production-like conditions.
Essential Skills Proven experience in performance testing within complex enterprise environments.
Strong proficiency with JMeter (experience with Load Runner, Gatling, or k6 is advantageous).
Solid understanding of application architecture, web/app servers (e.g., Apache, JBoss), and database performance.
Ability to interpret and present performance metrics and reports to technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and scripting languages (Java, Groovy, or Python).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills Experience with APM tools (Dynatrace, App Dynamics, New Relic).
Knowledge of financial services systems and regulatory environments.
Exposure to cloud platforms and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
