We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Lean Specialist to join Suir Engineering.
This is a hybrid role, based in Waterford or Dublin, with regular travel to construction sites across Ireland and Europe.

We are currently expanding significantly, and are delivering large scale projects across Ireland, the U.K, Germany, Denmark and Sweden.
The Construction Lean Specialist will support the deployment of Lean construction principles across live construction projects in Ireland and Europe.
The role is hands-on and site-focused, working with project teams to improve efficiency, reduce waste, embed continuous improvement practices, and audit Lean and operational standards across sites.
This role is suited to a developing Lean professional with 2+ years' experience who is looking to grow their capability in a multi-project, international construction environment.
Key Responsibilities Lean Continuous Improvement Support the implementation of Lean construction tools and routines on site.
Identify waste, constraints, and process inefficiencies across site operations.
Apply A3 thinking and root cause analysis to site-based issues and improvement opportunities.
Engage site teams and leaders to build understanding, ownership, and momentum for continuous improvement initiatives.
Hold teams accountable for progress, outcomes, and follow-through on agreed improvement actions.
Facilitate CI workshops, problem-solving sessions, and structured improvement activities.
Coach and support employees in the practical application of CI tools and Lean ways of working.
Track, analyse, and clearly communicate CI performance, progress, and impact to stakeholders.
Site Engagement Coaching Work closely with site managers, engineers, supervisors, and trade teams.
Coach teams in the day-to-day application of Lean tools and routines.
Reinforce consistent Lean behaviours on site.
Build strong working relationships through regular site presence and engagement.
Project Cross-Site Support Support Lean deployment during project mobilisation and early delivery phases.
Assist with standardising Lean practices across projects while respecting site-specific requirements.
Capture and share best practice and lessons learned across Ireland and European sites.
Collaborate with project teams across multiple locations and functions.
Site Auditing Compliance Conduct regular Lean and Operational Excellence audits across construction sites.
Assess adherence to Lean standards, and CI routines.
Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities and report findings to project and senior leadership teams.
Support corrective action plans and follow-up reviews to ensure sustained improvements.
Contribute to the development of site audit frameworks, checklists, and Lean maturity assessments.
Performance Measurement Reporting Support tracking and reporting of Lean KPIs Maintain visual management boards and performance dashboards.
Provide input to Lean and Operational Excellence reports and presentations.
Key Skills Competencies Working knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement tools.
Practical, site-oriented mindset with credibility in construction environments.
Strong communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.
Organised, proactive, and motivated to develop professionally.
Comfortable working in a hybrid role with frequent site travel and audits.
Experience Qualifications Essential Minimum 2 years' experience in construction, engineering, project delivery, or a related environment.
Exposure to Lean, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence practices.
Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly across Ireland and Europe.
Desirable Lean qualification or formal Lean training (Green Belt or equivalent).
Experience with Lean Construction tools such as Last Planner System.
Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Experience conducting audits or structured site reviews.
Understanding of construction site operations and project lifecycles.
Travel Requirements Regular travel to construction sites across Ireland.
Periodic travel to European project locations.
Flexibility to align with site and project schedules.
