Warehouse Manager
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee daily warehouse operations within a fast-paced environment.
· Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
· Lead, train, and develop a team of yard staff ensuring high levels of engagement and performance.
· Maintain health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
· Manage inventory accuracy, stock control, and warehouse organisation.
· Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce waste.
· Work closely with other departments such as transport and customer service teams to ensure smooth logistics operations.
· Analyse operational data to drive improvements and report key performance metrics.
· Coordinate the movement of materials within the yard, ensuring proper storage and organization
· Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery
· Utilize forklifts and other equipment to safely load and unload materials
· Perform any other tasks which may be assigned by management from time to time.
· Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager ideally within the building material distribution industry.
· Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
· Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of team development.
· Knowledge of warehouse management systems and stock control processes.
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced setting.
· Ability to drive performance improvements and implement process enhancements.
· Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Proven experience in set up and launch of a new distribution hub.
