The Maintenance Technician is vital for ensuring Ornua’s operations are reliable and efficient. Your role involves maintaining equipment, minimizing downtime, and supporting a safe working environment through active participation in Health & Safety systems. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, driving innovation and enhancing performance, while ensuring compliance with technical and food hygiene standards to uphold product quality and safety.
Key Areas of Responsibility
* Support the H&S system within Ornua through active participation.
* Maintain asset performance and conduct repairs and preventative maintenance.
* Complete all tasks assigned by the Engineering Lead.
* Collaborate with operational and engineering teams to meet site KPIs.
* Manage and execute assigned projects.
* Drive and support continuous improvement programs.
* Be a proactive member of the site engineering team.
* Participate in employee development and performance management programs.
* Engage in training programs and add value through new skills.
* Ensure compliance with technical and food hygiene standards to meet quality and safety requirements.
Requirements
* A recognized Electrical or Mechanical Qualification.
* Experience in high-speed facilities and familiarity with Packaging Machines is desirable.
* Automation experience, particularly with Siemens PLCs, is desirable.
* Knowledge of HMI & SCADA systems, instrumentation, and process control (pumps, valves, instruments).
* Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
* Flexibility to work varying shifts.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
