We are seeking a Junior Project Manager to join our clients' team in the Southwest region, a Civil and Groundworks contractor.
Our client delivers high-quality civil, drainage, and infrastructure packages for both residential and commercial developers.
This is a unique "career-track" role. We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years of professional experience who is ready to step into supervision/management.
Site Supervisors/Engineers with a good understanding of groundworks are encouraged to apply.
There will be a mix of onsite, and office based work (Paperwork/Planning) involved with this role.
This role is ideal for a candidate who is "hands-on" but possesses the organisational skills required for a management office.
We welcome applications from Site Supervisors, Gangers, or Site Engineers who wish to transition into a Project Management career path.
Role & Responsibilities
* Working closely with a Senior Contracts Manager, you will assist in the oversight of multiple groundworks projects.
* Overseeing groundworks crews and plant operators to ensure excavations, drainage installations, and concrete works are executed to plan.
* Assisting in the preparation of Method Statements, Risk Assessments (RAMS), and daily site reports.
* Monitoring material orders, tracking site variations, and assisting with the quantification of works for progress claims.
* Reviewing civil drawings and ensuring site levels and specifications are met, working alongside the setting-out engineers.
* Ensuring all site activities comply with strict health and safety protocols, conducting daily tool-box talks, and maintaining the safety file.
* Gradually taking on more responsibility for project scheduling, budget management, and direct client liaison as your management skills develop.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum of 2+ years' experience specifically within the Civil or Groundworks sector in Ireland.
* Full Driving Licence is essential, as you will be required to travel between sites in Clare and Limerick.
* While we welcome non-national candidates, previous Irish site experience is preferred due to familiarity with local building regulations and ground conditions.
* Proficiency in reading civil engineering drawings. Experience with MS Project, Excel, or construction management software is a plus.
* Strong verbal and written English is required for co-ordinating with site teams and producing project reports.
