About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Health, Safety and Environmental Officer to join our team in Waterford.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety management, with experience in supervising and guiding project safety advisors.
Responsibilities:
🔹 Promote safe working practices and manage the implementation of company HSE policy and procedures on site.
🔹 Carry out regular site inspections and report findings to relevant personnel.
🔹 Ensure that all project team members have been provided with relevant HSE documentation.
🔹 Manage the maintenance of clear records to comply with company internal and external audit standards.
🔹 Assist site management teams and sub-contractor owners with risk assessments and sub-contractor evaluations.
🔹 Deliver HSE training where appropriate.
🔹 Support the Project Manager in incident investigation.
🔹 Liaise with relevant authorities.
🔹 Identify opportunities for HSE improvement.
🔹 Attend relevant HSE meetings as required.
🔹 Assist managers with safety and environmental submissions and vendor evaluations.
🔹 Communicate and promote HSE ethos, values and concepts.
🔹 Other duties as required.
Requirements
• Level 8 qualification in Health and Safety.
• 8 years successful postgraduate experience in project HSE management.
• Chartered membership of IOSH.
• Strong knowledge of OHSAS 45001.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lead major accident investigations.
